Sue was born in Wales and studied in Brighton and Farnham before graduating from Falmouth College of Arts with a BA(Hons) in Fine
After several years in Cyprus and the Middle East she settled in Cornwall where she lived for 30 years, drawing inspiration from Cornish land and seascapes, particularly the ports and harbours of West Penwith. After a few years living in France she has now returned to the West Country.
Sue used to live in Goodrington and has a great fondness for Dartmouth. After a break from painting for a couple of years she has really enjoyed capturing some of her favourite views.
Sue has always lived by the sea, whether in Cornwall or in foreign climes and feel uncomfortables if too far away from it. However, during the many years she spent sailing offshore with her husband, being actually on the sea wasn't always a comfortable experience, therefore making a harbour one of her favourite places! She doesn't sail much now, but harbours have remained! As well as their obvious protective function, they are endlessly fascinating and full of things to draw and paint.
