Artist and designer Simon Hart is widely recognised for the unique collage style that gives his work such a strong identity. Since graduating from the Royal College of Art over 20 years ago he's exhibited in many galleries throughout the UK and has had many prints and greetings cards of his work published worldwide. His illustrations have also been used on childrens books, wallpaper, textiles, rugs, magazine covers and stage sets. Up until now he has been best known for his bright and colourful seascapes focusing on the fishing villages and harbours of Cornwall and Devon and has gathered quite a following of collectors over the years.
More recently Simon has found new inspiration in the wildlife and nature that surrounds him, creating some wonderful illustrations of woodland animals , birds, dogs and cats. It has been the 'Pawtraits' collection of Dog Collages using vintage newspapers, antique sheet music, old maps and tweed fabrics that have really struck a chord with the public. He is rapidly gathering a new following of collectors, the dog owners across the world can't get enough of his quirky images that seem to really capture the strong features and character of many of our much loved dog breeds. Using his wealth of experience in Surface Pattern his focus is now on applying these images to a whole range of products including mugs, coasters, trays, placemats, compact mirrors, tea towels, bags, cards and prints.
