about Janet Bell | back

Janet was born in Cheshire and as a child spent many summers playing on the beaches of North Wales and Denmark surrounded by beach huts, white sands, colourful houses, fishing boats and harbours.

She moved to Beaumaris, Anglesey in November 2007 and can now see the sea from her front door and paints from her studio in her own gallery.

She has always loved to create, make and draw so naturally studied Art at North East Wales Institute of Art & Design, then went on to study Multi Media Textiles graduating in 1997.

Janet still travels to Scandinavia at least once a year being half Danish but she is hugely inspired by her regular trips to the coast all around the UK. Everything about seaside life inspires her, the delightful houses, harbours, boats, bunting, lighthouses and even the cheeky seagulls. She has a love of South Devon having visited several times and the paintings in this exhibition are of her favourite places to visit.

There are small limited editions runs available of some of the paintings.
Janet’s work has now become very collectible and has been adapted onto stationery and homewares which are sold worldwide.
